Abimbola Delalu

Primary Counsel

Family law litigator, IMI Qualified Mediator, and trusted Calgary advisor.

Abimbola Delalu is the primary counsel at BIM LAW. She practices primarily in Divorce and Family law matters. She has appeared and represented her clients successfully before the Alberta Provincial Court, Court of King's Bench, and the Court of Appeal.

Abimbola has given presentations to women at the Women's Centre at Elizabeth Fry on Family Law issues after separation including divorce, parenting and custody, child support and spousal support. She has also offered interactive workshops to students at Maple Leaf Academy and similar organizations.

Although Abimbola is a confident and persuasive litigator, she always encourages her clients to attempt Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes in resolving issues. She is also cognizant of how expensive the legal process can be, and does her best to help clients mitigate their legal costs as much as possible.

Abimbola obtained her Bachelor of Law (LL.B) degree with Honours from Lagos State University. In 2005, she relocated to the United States to pursue a Master's degree in Law. In 2006, she completed her postgraduate Law program and earned a Masters of Law (LL.M) from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis (IUPUI). While in Indianapolis, she focused on Family Law, Contract Negotiations, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and worked with a Family Law Professor on various Family Law articles.
